We stayed at Reves de Montagnes for a weekend break late August and absolutely loved it. The location is fantastic; the chalet is beautifully renovated and immaculately kept. We loved what Andy had done inside and outside of the chalet. Karen and Andy are super friendly and helpful. The little villages around are really beautiful. We enjoyed our long walk in Sixt Fer A Cheval and the telesiege ride to the top of the mountains in Morillon with panoramic views of Mont Blanc mountain range (thanks Karen for proposing it and checking the opening times for us). Afterwards it was really relaxing to take a dip in the beautiful heated pool while enjoying the breathtaking views of the valley. We would love to come back for a longer stay and highly recommend it to all.

    Hi Karen and Andy
Thanks for the great holiday. The pool is fantastic and the kids are still laughing an Andy’s dive bomb ‘technique’. It was lovely to see the chalet in all its summer glory and explore the valley without ski boots on – we will definitely be back for more of the same.

What a secret gem! Karen and Andy Wilson have painstakingly, sympathetically and intelligently restored a 17C Savoyard farmhouse into a luxury mountain chalet. The chalet is ultra spacious with a vast living area and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms all with stunning mountain views. Every detail has been thought of, with a hot tub and recently added outdoor pool. The friendly hosts (who live in the apartment below) are discreetly but readily on hand for any information and keen to impart their local knowledge when requested. We very much appreciated the guided mountain bike trip they organised and joined us in and fully explored the wealth of activites available in the Giffre Valley in summer – hiking to mountain refuges, via ferrata, biking, rafting…. – the list is endless. The Giffre Valley is a truly year round resort that maintains its local character and achieves a rare balance in a top ski area of tourist activities and traditional farming – all in beautiful surrounding with a backdrop of impressive mountains. In summer the Cirque du Fer à Cheval at Sixt is a must and compares with some of the most impressive scenery in the US National Parks. In winter the skiing is second to none and the valley floor provides a host of additional activities such as dog sledding, X-country skiing and snow shoeing. The local town of Samoens as well as catering to the tourists is a typical French market town with lots of character. Truly a hidden gem that has it all and remains relatively undiscovered – I urge you discover the charms of Reves de Montagne!

What a wonderful place. We spent a long weekend here in September with our two daughters. The chalet is beautiful and has been renovated to an extremely high standard. Every detail has been thought of – the bedrooms are large and comfortable, the bathrooms luxurious, the living areas are superb with great views over the mountains and the food is excellent and plentiful. Karen and Andy are very friendly, attentive hosts, nothing is too much trouble for them.

    We will definitely return.

Love this chalet! We came for a long weekend as B&B guests and didn’t know the area at all – what a great surprise…it’s stunning. There’s an enormous range of things to do in the valley and up the mountain and the scenery is really, really beautiful. As for the chalet, it’s quite simply perfect – it’s beautiful, luxurious, has bags of character but also lots of mod cons – we loved it and can’t wait to come back.

We stayed at Reves de Montagne in July and were delighted. The chalet is a beautifully renovated old farmhouse in a tranquil and sunny spot. We loved everything – huge windows with fantastic mountain views, super comfortable and large bed, beautiful bathroom, delicious and generous breakfast, the gardens plus the friendly and attentive service from Karen and Andy. The mountains are gorgeous and the medieval village of Sixt and Samoens are very pretty. If you’re there on a Wednesday, visit the huge market full of delicious goodies!
