le Grand Massif

Only one hour from Geneva airport, the Grand Massif is a huge ski area of five linked resorts (Morillon, Samoëns, Les Carroz, Sixt and Flaine) with a wide range of varied terrain for all levels of skier and snowboarder. The Grand Massif is France’s 5th largest ski area and boasts an excellent snow record, one of the best in France in fact due to its promixity to Mont Blanc. The Grand Massif has 23 green runs, 60 blue runs, 47 red runs, 12 black runs and huge areas of off-piste.

Luxury ski chalet Rêves de Montagne is nestled in the heart of this area, we are only 5 minutes drive to Morillon and 9 to Samoëns.

The Grand Massif has 265km of beautifully groomed pistes includes Cascade which is Europe’s longest blue piste – a stunningly beautiful 14km. The region is also something of an undiscovered freeride paradise too. Samoëns is the only ski resort in France to be listed as a historical moment and it’s packed with architecture that dates back to the 13th century.

I consider the Grand Massif to be the most underrated ski area in the Alps. The 265km of pistes are more exciting and more varied than the motorways of Paradiski or the Three Valleys.
